Yes. A light fast of 8–12 hours before your session is recommended. This allows the body to be in an optimal state for cleansing and minimizes the chance of nausea from food during the purge. Full preparation instructions will be sent to you after booking.
How long does a session last?
While the active part of the ceremony typically lasts between 20–40 minutes, please allow 2–3 hours in total for rest, recovery, and integration. Each session is unique and tailored to your needs.
What happens during a Kambo session?
The ceremony begins with intention-setting and grounding. Small points also know as “gates” are gently created on the surface of the skin using a natural stick to open the top layer. The Kambo secretion, mixed with a small amount of water, is then applied to these points, allowing the medicine to enter the lymphatic system and begin its work.
You may feel a warming or pulsing sensation as the body responds. This can bring on purging, nausea, sweating, crying, or emotional release — all natural expressions of the deep detoxification and energetic clearing that Kambo supports. The active purging process typically lasts around 20 to 30 minutes — after which the medicine is removed.
Immediately after, many feel a sense of clarity, emotional release, and renewed energy. Some are drawn to rest and restore, while others feel reflective or uplifted. However it unfolds, each journey is uniquely your own.
To complete the process, the small application points (gates) — are gently treated with Sangre de Grado(Dragon’s Blood), a powerful Amazonian tree resin often called nature’s bandage. This supports healing and helps protect the skin, symbolizing the sacred closing of your Kambo ceremony.

Integration is what happens after your Kambo ceremony, it is the process of gently settling and making sense of the shifts that unfold after your ceremony. This may look like rest, quiet reflection, or simply giving yourself time and space to be.
